When the song began playing for the 7th time she knew then that she was indeed in hell. The people around her sang along as if they hadn’t been there the first six times. She just looked to the sky and screamed her frustration.
Just for a break, here are some tiny droplet stories that take a few seconds to read.
She tried to forgive them but it was too hard. No matter what they did now she would never forget. She left in the middle of the night, relief coursing through her veins.
They drove away from the hospital tears in their eyes. Nothing would ever be the same again.
“Wha- Where the fuck?”
“You ok, mate?”
“No. What’s going on?”
“Oh, new to this then?”
“No, I just don’t know where I am.”
“Oh right, thought you were a new ghost. Had a right panic thinking I was gonna have to show you what to do. I’m not cut out for that shit.”
Pants are necessary. As are socks, trousers, a t-shirt, a coat because it is raining, and shoes. All of these things and more are needed before you can leave the house. But there were none in the house. She knew there used to be. She left the house just yesterday to buy bananas and an umbrella and had been dressed appropriately. Now she stood in Winnie the Pooh pyjamas and stared at empty cupboards and drawers. She had nothing but the pyjamas she stood in and a broken umbrella.
The bananas were gone too.
